I was asked to speak at a seminar just at the other side of Tower Bridge so I returned to a hotel I have not stayed in for a couple of years. The Premier Inn Tower Hill is located withing a couple of minutes walk from Tower Hill Tube station and when i arrived at Euston the Northern Line wasnt running due to tresspassers on the line so I thought I would drop my case off and head to the venue.

I was a little early so the room was not ready but the reception team were very helpful and I left my case in their left lugage room until I returned later on. The bar area has had a bit of a revamp since I last styed there so I thought I would nip for a pint after my seminar.

I did like the feel for the bar but was disappointed to discover only two draught lagers and one wasnt available so I ended up with Coors which is not my favourite tipple.

The room I was given was on the ground floor just behind the bar which I dont mind as it saves the wait for the lift. I was going out into the city for a dinner in Tallow Chandlers Hall that evening and then I had to be up early to catch the train to Hull to atend an event there so I wasnt going to be spending much time in there.

The room was clean as you expect from a Premier Inn and with the standard comfy bed. There was no bath but I seldom have time for one when I am away. Being a ground floor room there was not much of a view and I was overlooking a carpark and offices.

This hotel is well placed for this side of London with the Tower minutes away. It is also handy for the south bank and the DLR so transport links are good, there are lots of busy roads around but that isnt too much of an issue.

I didnt get time for breakfast this time as I hard to get to Kings Cross early and my train was cancelled so I set off as soon as I got the notification when I woke up.

Overall a good hotel to stay in for access to that end of London. Not the best bar area but other than that it is a good base and there are plenty of other bars you can visit in the area!
