I had a few days spare after new year so I dedcided not to sit arround the house and booked a trip to Copenhagen. I have been once before but only for seven hours on the way to the Faroe Islands, well I then got a delay of six hours at the airport and dont even mentionm the trip back!
This time I booked an Easy Jet flight from manchester which was only £100 return, I then added a case and speedy boarding which bumped it up to around £200. I found a boutique hotel near the central train station for £115 a night and paid an extra £30 a night for an upgraded room as I had a few meetings online whilst over there.

My room wasnt ready when I arrived so I waited in the bar for a short while. The reception team were amazing, verey helpful and accomodating.

The room was nicely furnished and I had a balcony.. although it was a little cold outside being january.

The bar was quite small but big enough and was a high end cocktail bar at night.

Everything was easy to get to on food, they have a great metro service but I wanted to see the sights and spend enough time on the tube in London. The picture above is the famour round tower.
Everywhere you go in Copenhagen it feels extremely safe and the locals are extremely friendly. I go to quite a few Scandinavian countries and they are all very similar, and that goes for expensive beer too! In Norway I paid £14 a pint!

It was fantastic to visit during the winter, its exactly what I wanted with snow on the ground and roaring fires. Even with the snow it was still east to get about.

Overall Copenhagen isnt the cheapest place to spend four days but it is lovely. Well worth a vist and the Ascot Hotel is a fantastic base. The journey from the airport to the city is very quick and cheap on the train, it makes it a great place for a short city break. The seafood on the waterfront is amazing too but certainly not the cheapest place to eat.
